How to Identify a Fake Navy SEAL

The U.S. Navy SEALs are America’s premier naval special operations force. SEAL is the acronym for Sea, Air, and Land and highlights the arenas that SEALs can operate in. Whether the U.S. military needs enemy beach defenses softened up or enemy ships destroyed in a fortified harbor, the SEALs are always prepared to serve with their distinctive capabilities. SEALs can parachute or swim into their target area and are proficient at not only underwater demolitions and operations but small-unit tactics and reconnaissance as well.

It is a fact that the name “Navy SEALs” in itself provides a whole lot of possibilities for a person. There are a lot of people who use the name to proclaim themselves as Navy SEALs in order to trick people into getting employed.

Therefore it is very important that you check the background of a person claiming to be a Navy SEAL. However, there are times when even the most meticulous cross-examination does not tell you whether the person is the real deal or not.

A fake U.S. Navy SEAL will:

Wear Camouflage Clothing Covered with Medals and Tridents

An individual, more so a Navy SEAL, would never advertise the awards or commendations he has received. No Navy SEAL is going to walk around in camouflage clothing with ribbons, tridents, and/or patches. A Navy SEAL will always shy away from an “in your face” display of his Navy SEAL credentials.

Not Know His Class Number

There is absolutely no way in the world that a U.S. Navy SEAL is going to forget his class number.

Furthermore, the person will lie to you that he didn’t undergo the training for BUD/S just because he’s quite exceptional. All Navy SEAL aspirants, whatever their level of experience, have to go through the intense BUD/S training. BUD/S is the acronym for Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL. The training involves six months of testing the person’s endurance, strength, and all-round resolve.

Mention Team 6

Every Navy SEAL aspires to be a member of Team 6, which is the elite team within the elite. A real Navy SEAL will never tell you that he was a member of Team 6.

Not Remember the Details

Delicate information about names, places, dates, or other such information are top secret and are usually not revealed or given out but there are certain things about his tour of duty that a real Navy SEAL will be able to tell you. Smell a rat when the person says he cannot tell you anything.

Have Emotional Glorification

A fake Navy SEAL can weave a good emotional story glorifying his valor. He will argue with you that he was taken prisoner and has supposedly gone through some of the most difficult life of being tortured and beaten up for interrogation.

Keep Talking About His Medals

Not only does he talk nonstop about his medals but he may also claim to have been awarded the Medal of Honor. Always bear in mind that U.S. Navy SEALs never like to talk about their accomplishments and the medals they have earned.

Not Remember His Superiors

A real Navy SEAL will never forget his swim buddy, more so his superiors.

Like to Advertise His Kills

Stay away from a person if he claims to have killed scores of people during his mission. A fake Navy SEAL will always boast about having killed a lot of people.

Be a Female

Women are not accepted in the Navy SEALs program. The Congress had imposed a policy that excludes women from active combat duty.

So in a nutshell, you have to know a real SEAL to spot the fake SEAL.
