The Netherlands special forces are called the Bijzondere Bijstands Eeheid (BBE) and is part of the Maritime Special Operations Forces of the Dutch marine corps. Their size and numbers are classified and they work in conjunction with the marines.
Their History
The BBE, as they are known, has been a special forces operation in Netherlands since 1973 and is considered to be an elite Dutch forces team of the most qualified trained marines. The unit was created after the Munich Massacre when 11 Israeli athletes were murdered by terrorists. This is one of the first counter terrorism special forces units in the world that was created specifically for this purpose.
How To Become A Member Of The BBE
Those who want to become a member of the BBE must be members of the Marine Corps, from which they are recruited. Dutch Marines are considered highly trained and skilled as it is; those who join the BBE are among the most elite of the Marine Corps and pass grueling training tests.
BBE Training
A great deal of the actual training of the BBE is classified. They are headquartered at Doorn, however their numbers are classified information. They specialize in quick reaction to counter terrorism as well as hostage situations on sea and land, both domestically and abroad.
What Are They Best At?
They were formed as a counter terrorism force. They are best at hostage release and countering terrorism.
Weapons Of The BBE
Some of the weapons used by the BBE include the AWSM Sniper rifle, the Diemaco C8 Crbine, the FN P90 sub machine gun, the Glock 17 pistol, the Heckler & Koch MP5 sub machine gun, the Heckler & Koch MSG-90 sniper rifle and the Steyr SSG sniper rifle.
Known Missions
One of the first known missions of the BBE was intervention at the Scheveningen prison that was under siege in 1974. They also operated in the Province Hall Hostage Crisis in Assan and their last known operation was in the Hague. They operate on sea as well and have fought off pirates
Units
The BBE unit size is classified. They are also known as the UIM. They are widely respected and considered to be the most well trained of the Marines.

The Special Forces of Netherlands are not the BBE this is Elite korps of the Marine. The Special Forces of The Netherlands is the KCT the Korps Commando Troepen this are the real boys who work for the special forces in Netherlands the BBE are strong and good and a elite Korps.
